Pennsylvania CCAs gather for learning event, recognition of years of service

The Pennsylvania (Keystone) Chapter of the Certified Crop Adviser program held its annual training on October 29 and 30. Each day offered an array of sessions for CCAs to earn Pennsylvania pesticide credits, Pennsylvania nutrient management credits, and/or CCA CEUs. 

At the conference’s opening sessions, participants had an opportunity to dig into Pennsylvania's agricultural future with the Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture Russell Redding and get an introduction to the state's new Center for Plant Excellence. Other presentations throughout the two-day conference covered various topics, such as  weather, slugs, deer damage, Chesapeake Bay and Pennsylvania Nutrient Management program update, farm safety, soil microbiologics, artificial intelligence, Drones, nematodes, and soil health, to name a few.

More than 70 people attended each day with a fair amount of out of state CCA and special student guests from Delaware Valley University and The Pennsylvania State University. Certified Crop Advisers with 5, 10, 15, and 20 years + of certification were recognized for their service.
