Earth Science Week, a public outreach campaign of the American Geosciences Institute (AGI), takes place this year on Oct. 12–18. As a member of AGI, SSSA is pleased to participate in the annual AGI Earth Science Week by providing materials for the teacher kits and a lesson plan in the calendar.

Earth Science Week is a public outreach campaign of the American Geological Institute (AGI), reaching millions of people every year with resources, activities, and information about the importance of the geosciences to society. This year's event takes place on October 12–18. As a member of AGI, SSSA is pleased to participate in the annual AGI Earth Science Week by providing materials for the teacher kits and a lesson plan in the calendar (see this year's calendar activity and more information). 

The American Geoscience Institute (AGI) has released a compilation of new factsheets for each of the 50 states. The factsheets provide the tangible contributions of geoscience (earth science) to the economy, environment, public health, and safety of each state.
